About
EchoBox Play started as a shared notebook between a few friends who kept texting each other tips about the games they were stuck on. At some point the notes got long enough that a website made more sense than a group chat.
We cover mobile games of all kinds — role-playing, strategy, racing, puzzles, whatever we end up installing that week. The rule is simple: someone on the team has to actually play a game before we write about it. That means our guides sometimes take longer, but they reflect real sessions instead of a press release.
Games get picked in a few ways. Sometimes it's whatever is trending in the stores, sometimes a reader emails us a request, and sometimes one of us just gets hooked on something odd and wants to explain it. We try to keep the mix wide so the catalog isn't all one genre.
We're a small independent team, not tied to any studio or publisher. If we like something we say so, and if a game frustrates us we write that down too.
Lukas Brenner — Lukas is our lead editor and has been playing mobile games since flip phones had them. He handles most of the strategy and RPG coverage and edits everything before it goes live.
